Elementary Steps to Play Blackjack
Do you want to learn how to play blackjack or are you just curious how the game goes? Here are pretty straightforward steps beginners and skeptics can follow to have a general overview of the game. The instructions and steps have been laid out pretty easy -- all we may need is to picture out how things go.
The first step. We'll start off with the object of the game. This is a pretty good step to start with in any case. The object of blackjack is to get a hand that totals to 21 (thus we have the other name of the game -- twenty-one). If we don't get our cards to total to exactly 21 we try to get them as close as possible without going over this amount.
Step two would be keeping score. Each of the face cards (Kings, Queens, and the Jacks) would amount to a score of ten. An Ace will have a score of either one or eleven. The rest of the cards take their face value. Suits don't count. For instance we have an Ace and a Queen, that is an instant 21 (a.k.a. the natural). This step isn't really that hard to remember so try the next one.
Step three -- hitting. No, we don't chase people with a stick in this step. When our cards' score is pretty low we get to ask more cards from the dealer. Here's where the fun begins. We get one card per request for a hit. Careful though, because if you take a hit and go over 21 you lose automatically so try to keep score. A little math won't hurt. For example you already have a King and a Ten, pretty good, but you get greedy so you take a hit and you get an Ace. This is a 21, perfect. But if you get something a bit higher, let's say a Two, you lose.
Losing on a Bust or winning on a Blackjack is our step four. A bust is when the total score of our hand goes over 21. A Blackjack is when we get a 21 on the first two cards. This step is all up to you. You get to decide your next step. Do you get greedy with a really good score or are you satisfied that you can win with a fairly even score? This step is all up to you.
These steps are pretty elementary, straightforward and easy. These steps are just an overview of all the action in blackjack. If you think that blackjack is truly an exciting game why not get to know the rules and play a few games?
